Does your child babble? Do they make sounds? Do they use gestures or signs to communicate their wants and needs? When playing with your child, do they try to imitate you or copy what you’re doing? Is your child difficult to understand?

If you answered “sometimes” or “no” to any of the questions above, Awesome Kids Therapy would love to help you! If you are a parent, guardian, or caregiver of a child (ages birth-4) who is not meeting their communication milestones, a consultation is a great way to start. This complementary consultation may help you decide if a speech & language evaluation is needed to further assess your child. You’ll be able to ask specific questions to a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist (speech therapist).

A Complementary Phone Consultation may consist of:

  • Completion of a developmental screener, including asking questions about the child's communication skills.

  • Discussion of results of screener completed during the phone call.

  • General education about communication development, including speech & language development.

  • Recommendations for next steps with Awesome Kids Therapy and Sarah Pendergast.

During a Complementary Phone Consultation, the speech therapist will not:

  • Diagnose communication disorders or any other medical condition/diagnosis.

  • Facilitate a speech & language evaluation.

  • Provide individualized speech & language therapy services.

  • Interact with the child you are inquiring about.
